WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY?
Contact your primary care veterinarian or come to the hospital immediately if you notice any of the following signs or symptoms in your pet:
- Difficulty breathing, coughing or choking
- Disorientation, weakness, seizures or collapse
- Body temperature less than 99°F or over 104°F
- Frequent vomiting and/or diarrhea or evidence of blood in vomit or stool
- Blood in urine or straining to urinate
- Suspected ingestion of foreign object or poison
- Snake bite
- Bloating (swollen, hard abdomen)
- Trauma (car accident, dog fight, fall, laceration)
- Fractured limbs, swelling of joints, lameness, or paralysis
- Difficulties during labor
- Over-heating (heat stroke) or hypothermia
- Bleeding from the nose, mouth and/or any uncontrollable bleeding
